Avion Solutions, Inc. is Turning 20!

Congratulations to the Avion Solutions Employee-Owners as we Celebrate 20 years of Business Operations!

Twenty years ago in January 1992; Avion Inc. was incorporated. Initially headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., Avion was formed with goals of utilizing Experiment Design, Engineering Analysis and Rapid Prototyping Methodologies to solve technical engineering problems. Concurrent with the Aviation Command BRAC relocation to Redstone Arsenal, Avion’s President, Mr. Gary Donald, relocated his family and ten employees to Huntsville in 1997.

In 2007, Avion shared ownership with all employees by forming an Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP), and reorganized to Avion Solutions, Inc. Employees are our most important asset: Our philosophy of promoting employee growth opportunities, decision-making empowerment and our comprehensive, highly competitive compensation package reflects this. Our employees have voted Avion as one of the Best Places to Work in Huntsville/Madison County for the past three years, 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Also in 2011, Avion Solutions, Inc. was named the winner of the Huntsville/Madison County Small Business of the Year Award in Government Contracting Services. According to Mr. Chad Donald, Executive Vice President, “this is a great honor for our employee-owners. Our employees have a passion to support the Soldier and that, together with our proven technical expertise makes us successful. However, we would be remiss if we do not recognize the wonderful Huntsville/Madison County community that has welcomed Avion Solutions and its employees with open arms, and has provided the catalyst to grow our business from 10 employees to more than 140 employees at present.”

Avion Solutions is recognized for its outstanding track record in supporting our Soldiers and providing rewarding careers for innovative technical professionals who strive for excellence. The Company employs engineers, ex-military aviation experts, logisticians, analysts, and computer systems professionals to provide technical expertise to support Army rotorcraft weapons systems, Unmanned Aerial Systems and associated subsystems.

Avion Solutions also supports state, regional and local Government organizations as well as the commercial sector for asset tracking, Inmate Tracking and Control (INTACT) Jail Software, and fleet data analysis.
