Avion was recognized on Friday, April 1st as the 2016 Company of the Year by the New South Chapter of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan(ESOP) Association at an awards banquet at the New South’s 3rd Annual Spring Workshop in Atlanta, Georgia. The New South Chapter of the ESOP Association has a total of 177 members, of which, 90 ESOP companies are eligible to be nominated for this award. After a comprehensive risk analysis, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has raised the unmanned aircraft (UAS) “blanket” altitude authorization for Section 333 exemption holders and government aircraft operators to 400 feet. Previously, the agency had put in place a nationwide Certificate of Waiver or Authorization (COA) for such flights up to 200 feet. In an ongoing effort to utilize technology to be more efficient with taxpayer money,the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee has taken steps to integrate Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) in their operations, achieving approval in less than 90 days.Sheriff Jeff Long said he wants to use the aircraft to aid the fire department by getting aerial images of large fires or vehicular accidents and assist the county’s SWAT team during emergencies, scan heavily vegetated areas for missing persons, during hostage crises, – in a Search and Rescue environment, a UAS can complete the work of 875 man-hours in 30 minutes.…

On Tuesday, September 1, Avion proudly hosted a Blood Assurance blood drive to celebrate the successful trial and upcoming full installation of BIT (Biometric Identification Tool), as well as announce the full launch of B SAFE Security Suite.
